Congress Slams Yogi Govt Over Cabinet Decisions, Calls Them Pro-Industrialist and Anti-People

Lucknow — Reacting sharply to the recent cabinet meeting chaired by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Congress spokesperson Anshu Awasthi accused the BJP-led government of functioning solely in the interest of industrialists, while ignoring the needs of common citizens.

In a scathing statement released to the press, Awasthi said, “Cabinet meetings under Yogi Adityanath are no longer about public welfare. They are being held only to benefit a select group of industrialist friends. This government is drunk on arrogance and has failed to offer any hope to the people, particularly the youth, farmers, Dalits, and the common man.”

The Congress spokesperson also alleged that under the BJP regime, public services and welfare systems are being systematically dismantled. “Schools are being shut down, the power department is on the verge of complete privatization, and under the guise of religion, people are being harassed in the state,” he added.

Awasthi further criticized the government’s inaction on social justice, stating that atrocities against Dalits continue unabated. “There is no effective welfare policy for the common man. Instead of formulating inclusive schemes, the government is pushing privatization and shutting down public institutions, betraying the trust of ordinary citizens,” he said.

Calling the government’s approach regressive and discriminatory, Awasthi reiterated the Congress party’s commitment to fight for the rights of the marginalized and demanded that the state focus on real development rather than “optics and appeasement.”

No official response has yet been issued by the state government regarding these remarks.
